The consortium of electrical material manufacturers contracts the energy supply to providers that work exclusively with renewable sources.
The consumption of energy from fossil fuels produces greenhouse gases, which contribute to climate change and have harmful effects on the well-being of the population and the environment. Energy accounts for 60 per cent of all global greenhouse gas emissions.
In 2015, the UN adopted the Agenda 2030 on Sustainable Development with the goal that countries and their societies should improve the lives of all, leaving no one behind. This Agenda defines 17 objectives, among which is to ensure access to affordable, safe, sustainable and modern energy for all.
The use of renewable energy sources (solar, wind, hydroelectric or biomass) is the way to achieve this goal. This is why COFME has signed an agreement with a company that markets an electricity supply based 100% on renewable energy sources. With this action, COFME complies with its social responsibility regarding the maintenance and protection of ecosystems.
The COFME Group consists of eight Spanish leading manufacturers in the field of electrical equipment: CELO, DAISALUX, FERMAX, SACI, SALICRU, SODECA, SOFAMEL and SOLERA.
