DAISALUX: lecture on emergency lighting in Barcelona

DAISALUX: lecture on Emergency Lighting at the College of Architects of Barcelona

Barcelona

DAISALUX, specialist in emergency lighting from the COFME group, presented the paper:”The value of the whole in emergency lighting. Security, minimalism and integration ” on October 24th at the College of Architects of Barcelona.

Emergency lighting solutions, evacuation signalling and beacon lighting such as those offered by DAISALUX, are integrated into the security installations. They are essential in public buildings to guide their occupants, who are generally unaware of the building. David Pérez de Albéniz, Technical Advisor for Lighting at DAISALUX, gave a presentation on the subject, analysing the needs of buildings and how to satisfy the requirements of security, integration and sustainability posed by the strict applicable regulations.

Essential lighting issues in architectural projects were addressed, such as: how the incorporation of optical lenses to LED technology provides solutions with fewer light points, the importance of ensuring clear visualization both at short and long distances of the signalling plates, small and very small size beaconing solutions that are easy to install, the incorporation of lithium batteries into emergency lighting elements, which guarantees a longer life cycle or the concept of sustainability, quantified through a series of magnitudes relating to the environmental impact of the lighting elements used and their maintenance, and which can be incorporated into the project report.

The COFME Group consists of eight Spanish leading manufacturers in the field of electrical equipment: APOLO, DAISALUX, EGI, FERMAX, SACI, SALICRU, SODECA and SOFAMEL.
