SACI collaborates in the Benban solar mega plant project

SACI collaborates in the Benban solar mega plant project.

SACI, COFME’s specialist in measurement and control, has collaborated with different products in one of the world’s largest solar plants in Aswan, Egypt.

The products included in the plant are the DH3CM and DH3EM digital meters, the AHM1-BC network analyzers and the TU125PS current transformers.

The AHM1 network analyzer is designed for the calculation and measurement of the electrical variables of a network such as voltage, current, frequency, power, power factor, energy, harmonic components, etc., with built-in 8 MB memory. The DH3CM and DH3EM digital meters belong to families of programmable multiscale ammeters and voltmeters for alternating and/or direct current of 4 digits. Finally, SACI contributes to the project with TU125PS equipment: narrow profile current transformers with plastic casing.

The Benban solar park takes its name from a town located some 650 km south of Cairo and 40 km northwest of Aswan. The mega solar plant will generate 90% of the energy currently produced by the Aswan reservoir. It consists of 41 contiguous plots that are connected to the Egyptian high-voltage grid through four substations. The substations are connected to an existing 220 kV line. The Benban Solar Park has a nominal capacity of 1,650 MW, corresponding to an annual production of around 3.8 TWh, and is considered one of the largest in the world.

The COFME Group consists of seven Spanish leading manufacturers in the field of electrical equipment: CELO, DAISALUX, SACI, SALICRU, SODECA, SOFAMEL and SOLERA.
