Hydrogen applications in potentially explosive environments require ventilation systems that meet ATEX safety requirements. These systems prevent the formation of explosive atmospheres and minimize the risk of fire or explosion. However, they also entail a significant increase in installation, maintenance and safety costs. The aim is therefore to reduce the areas classified as hazardous as much as possible.
To achieve this, halls and premises must be ventilated with air free of explosive gases or dusts, reducing the concentration of these elements below the explosion limits. SODECA’s ATEX solutions are designed to achieve this objective and allow to reduce the explosion-proof requirements of the devices to be installed in such halls and premises.
SODECA’s ATEX fans, for extraction in hydrogen environments, have an Ex h IIB+H2 T4 Gb marking, designed and built according to the European standard EN 14986:2017, being suitable for use in Zone 1 (Category 2) and comply with the provisions of the European directive 2014/34/EU.
