SOLERA, COFME’s specialist in enclosures and mechanisms, showed its experience in the Lean Manufacturing method.
On February 27th, the Valencia Lean Congress was held at the Valencia Trade Fair for the third consecutive year, bringing together 700 professionals who learned first-hand about the experiences of 10 companies from all sectors that have implemented this methodology.
The Factory Director of SOLERA, Mr. Francisco Ballesteros, was the first speaker at the Congress. He presented to the attendees the achievements, the problems involved in the adoption of Lean in the areas of injection, assembly, logistics and technical office at the SOLERA plants in Paterna and Cañete (Cuenca) and how they were resolved.
The Lean Manufacturing method is based on the elimination of activities that do not add value to the manufactured product, in a process of continuous improvement that seeks to quickly place the product on the market and measure its reaction. This measurement is the key that all the speakers agreed on, because what is not measured cannot be improved. On the other hand, the Congress concluded that the Lean methodology is applicable to all types of Companies if they allocate the appropriate resources, and presented the latest trends in this field.
The COFME Group consists of eight Spanish leading manufacturers in the field of electrical equipment: CELO, DAISALUX, FERMAX, SACI, SALICRU, SODECA, SOFAMEL and SOLERA.
